This Platinum 3173 cable performs better in medium and smaller room. Bass is tight and accurate but not as larger than life sounding as the 2497.It is used when you are satisfied with the current amount of bass you have but only need to tighten it but need something with something more resolving and neutral at the same time . It is more neutral sounding whereas the 2497 has a bit of flavour with more body and bass that suits larger rooms for that ” larger than life stage” .
