Subwoofer Platform / Subwoofer Stand
The Soundfoundations subwoofer platform is a 4 ich thick CLD 4 layer sandwich built within a classic Maple frame polished in a matt melamine finish
The Platform is no simple stand but is built with a lot of effort and considerable trials to obtain our desired results for absorption of vibrations, isolation and practicality
The Top layer is compressed felt that has excellent rigidity (so the platform doesn’t rob the bass or make it wooly) yet offers superb absorption properties
The center is composed of composite open cell foam with the lowest NRC which dissipates vibrations in the form of heat (friction)
The last layer is a closed cell Eva that not only provides an antiskid surface but most importantly isolates vibrations from transmitting to the floor keeping your neighbors happy
The closed cell foam is also weather proof allowing you to mop the floor without having to worry about any decay
The 18 by 18 inch top will accommodate feet of Upto 15 inch Subwoofers ( Do check the distance between your subwoofer feet to be sure they lie within 16 by 16 for safety

Note :
The felt top is loosely fitted on purpose
Since we want the vibrations to pass to the layers below rather than to the frame (which would the case if we fastened each layer to the side frame)
The CLD is only press fitted
Not fastened for this reason
