DIY Speaker Plinths
These are customized plinths that we custom make for floor standing speakers. They are generally 6mm thick lazer cut steel plates that are powder coated in a black matt texture.
Isospikes (Diameter 17 mm and height 17 mm ) are generally supplied together with spike feet in the plinth package, However one may also upgrade to “Ascendo Double Contoured Sure spikes (30 mm diameter and 30 mm high ) can also be purchased as an upgrade
Though these are mainly used by the DIY speaker building community we also have some clients who upgraded their branded stock speaker plinths with ours depending on whether the fit was correct
We have a couple standard plinth designs and shapes The REVEL , THE PRIME and OUTRIGGERS and what is suitable depends completely on the footprint of your floor stander.
Also we will require knowing the exact location of the 4 holes that are to be drilled on the plinth. These holes would be used to affix the plinth or outrigger to the base of the speaker using bolts. Obviously we are in no position to know where a user would like these since we do not know the location of the matching holes in the base of the speaker – (Only you as the owner of the said speaker know where these are and hence we will require to know the exact location where you would like thee holes to be drilled – the onus on fitting is yours)
In addition to lazer cut plinths we also have a more economical option called “outriggers”
These infact are what most modern floor standers use today to get more stability or isolation
The outriggers are nothing but a set of 4 slim plates ( 40mm wide bars that are 6mm thick ) that are to be screwed onto the base of your speaker ( 2 bars per speaker ) Spikes screw onto the ends of these outriggers.
We have two lengths only and usability of either depends on your speaker size

Height Restrictions
Plate thickness is 6 mm and spike height is about 35mm – This means that total height is about 1.5 inches off the floor – This is the ONLY option – We will not take requests for any alternates
Procedure
- First A decision needs to be made weather you would like a plinth or an outrigger depending on your taste
- You would need to specify to us the exact footprint of your speaker (width and depth) after which we will cut out the same size on a piece of paper and superimpose that on one of our standard plinth templates.
Depending on the fit one of our plinth templates or outriggers sizes are selected – ONLY then can a quote be given.
Hence please do not ask for a quote without
a) Deciding plinth or outrigger,
b) Sending us your speaker footprint
For diyers making your own cabinets we recommend that you buy our predrilled plinths or outriggers and then mark out and drill the holes in your wooden cabinet according to our predrilled plinths/outriggers for a match
What is Included
2 nos – 6mm thick Lazer cut plinths/base plates ( OR a set of 4 outrigger bars ) + 8 spikes + 8 spike tops + 8 aluminum indented coins to locate the pointed spikes .
Outrigger will have oval holes cutout and you are expected to use these to connect to the speaker base .Plinth plates will have 4 holes drilled diameter 10 mm ( location of these holes need to be given by you depending on where the matching holes are on the speaker base
NOTE : Fully custom design requests are not accepted – You need to choose from our pre approved designs only
We reserve the right to change the design of the spikes Some Photo graphs on website may be of old projects and may or may not represent the present actual end product.
Note: Photo graphs on the website may show the B&W Soundcare composite spikes, hence it is useful too note that these are upgrades and not included in the standard cost, moreover they are discontinued and upgrade option is now the Ascendo sure spikes only.
